Existing Shoe Rack Fitted to Wall in Paston, Peterborough

360 Maintenance Solutions was asked to reuse a customer's existing shoe rack rather than fit a new unit. The black, four-section, tilt-out shoe cabinet was positioned vertically against a wall in a sheltered entrance recess beside the door at a property in Paston, Peterborough. Photographs show the opened shoe compartments, work using a cordless drill inside the rack, and the completed closed-front appearance. The exact property address and installation date are not published.

What We Did

Customer-requested placement

The pre-owned black shoe storage cabinet was positioned in the recessed area by the entrance, making use of the available narrow wall space. The customer requested this location and reuse of the original unit.

Wall fitting in progress

The photographs show the installer working inside an opened compartment with a cordless drill and fastening components. The exact anchor type, wall construction and load rating are not documented in the supplied photographs.

Tilt-out compartments and finished position

The four storage sections are photographed open, showing how the trays tilt out, and closed, showing the vertical black-fronted cabinet beside the doorway.

Can an Existing Shoe Rack Be Reused and Wall-Mounted?

A pre-owned shoe rack may be suitable for reuse where the furniture design, wall structure and manufacturer’s fixing instructions allow it. In a narrow porch or entrance, a vertical tilt-out shoe cabinet can make use of wall space without occupying as much floor area as a freestanding rack.

For wall-mounted furniture, fixings should be selected for the actual wall material and expected loads. A photographed installation does not independently establish an allowable weight, compliance with the original furniture manufacturer's instructions, or suitability for every wall type. Outdoor or semi-exposed locations also need consideration of corrosion, weather and access clearance.

Outcome

At the customer's request, an existing four-section shoe cabinet was fitted in a sheltered wall recess by a Paston entrance door. The supplied photographs document the fitting in progress, the open storage compartments and the finished closed appearance. No load-testing or manufacturer approval is claimed.
